Ukrainian businesses are increasingly turning toward eco-friendly solutions. Among the innovators is KVOTA, a company from Ternopil that has been designing and manufacturing plastic injection molds for over 30 years.
As company director Olga Melykh shared in a recent #ShoTam online magazine interview, KVOTA has evolved from a family enterprise into a production facility focused on sustainable development. Even during the war, the company not only preserved its team but also launched new business directions — including the development of eco-friendly products.
Within the Innovation Challenge acceleration program organized by the EU, UNDP, and the BOOST Impact Acceleration Programme, KVOTA introduced its Green Tech project — an initiative to produce molds for biodegradable tableware for hotels and restaurants.
“Our goal is to replace single-use plastic tableware with biodegradable alternatives made from safe materials. We want Ukrainian business to become more responsible toward nature and people,” says Olga Melykh.
Now, KVOTA is preparing to launch its own line of bioplastic products and expand its presence in international markets.
